I upgraded to OLED too! I got the maxed out version - it has a new carrying case that can change size which is neat. I’ve been playing Genshin natively on SteamOS since it’s now possible without bans, though you have to fiddle a bit to install the additional voices (I didn’t, maybe next time). Hope it’ll be possible for HSR soon!
nice! i was thinking about the 1TB version but decided I wanted to have a glossy screen. it's actually quite easy to fix the storage problem (if that's what you're encountering with the voice pack installs) by moving your genshin files to a separate folder on your main home folder via steam deck desktop, and then using a symlink to connect that new folder to the launcher-i'm not the best at explaining but i've linked to a proper tutorial in the description! should take 5 minutes to fix tops, and future-proofs your genshin install for inevitable updates

@@mickey_x3 the Rog ally will be technically better since it runs natively windows on x86 cpu the hassle of installing windows will be gone also Rog ally is overall better for long run if you can use a powerbank while traveling then the ally will overall work better
@@Aman_Mondalthe main downside for me about buying an rog ally is that the support for the system will continuously drop with each coming model where as the steam deck will have full and dedicated support from valve for a very long time. With the Ally you’d have to keep buying the new models in order to receive that same love lol I don’t have that kind of money 🥹
@@RobinPochita I don't think you need to buy any new ally or steam deck if you buy the current ally the cpu is powerful enough to run for 6 years from now and also ally has the XG Mobile portable egpu which you can use to play in docked mode with actually good GPU specs and not just integrated graphic because of that GPU you can be assured that it will continue to be a good handheld computer for more than half a decade and honestly I doubt the steam deck will be good enough cuz it lacks power compared to ally cuz the cpu is a bit underclocked and also uses a less wattage the only thing steam deck is better in is the battery life

More like Genshin is made to believe runs on Windows by using a Proton compatibility layer. It is possible that your account could be banned because of this, so in the long term is better to just dual boot SteamOS and Windows and run Genshin on Windows.
This video came at the right time for me to decide on getting the Steam deck since i am always on the go and my setup broke down so having to change parts seemed expensive for the lack of time that i would be spending on at home. I'll mostly use the budget to get the maxed out steam deck ver because i mostly play jrpgs and single player games with the occasional Monster hunter game

Haha I used to have a massive Samsung 49inch monitor as well but I ended up downsizing to 38 then to 27. Felt a bit too big and tiring. Same with the deck, the deck was a bit too big and heavy for me so I've sold it and bought a Ayn Loki. I did debate the deck OLED but just felt like a little too big. Happy holidays!

tysm for watching! i saw the OLED drop and i knew i had to upgrade, pretty screens always get me :') the shell and buttons for my LCD came from extremerate, and it took me about 2 hours to do a full shell swap. i'd actually hold off on an OLED shell swap for now since i think internals have slightly changed and i'm not sure if the shells on the market have been updated to account for those changes yet, but am excited to do the same when it's ready! so right there with you :3

I'm looking on ipads however didn't had one tbh and worry a bit about their overheating (screen brightness is lowering) and thinking about steam deck too. Both those devices are not cheep for me, so thinking of one of them as an alternative to my potato laptop)
thank you so much for the kind words and for dropping by! if i didn't have a pc i'd probably just get a steam deck or a pc handheld (ally, legion go) for gaming purposes, ipads are great but they're really not for gaming tbh. the LCD steam deck is the most affordably priced option out of all of them (including most ipads) and it's still a pc-you can install windows if you need it, but genshin now runs on steamOS natively so you wouldn't need to. i also play a lot of games via steam anyway so it just made sense for me to get a deck, i hope this helps you with your own decision!

Just a quick question about Decky loader. So I've installed it on my Steam Deck LCD and everything works fine except when I'm shutting it down the lcd's light stays lit for about 1 to 2 minutes before finally shutting down. Did you also experience this on your Steam deck? I ended up uninstalling decky loader.

Does the Deck get super hot? I am planning on buying one but I am not sure about the fan noise or overheating.
The OLED model is much cooler and quieter than the LCD model, I usually didn’t even hear any noise or feel any warm heat from my hands holding it.

Just a quick question about Decky loader. So I've installed it on my Steam Deck LCD and everything works fine except when I'm shutting it down the lcd's light stays lit for about 1 to 2 minutes before finally shutting down. Did you also experience this on your Steam deck? I ended up uninstalling decky loader.
Searched the net and found that some users that installed decky loader messed up their decks as well so I am not sure if it is still safe to use it.
Never ever ever swap any electronic components before unpluging the battery first!
